Owners of waterworks and wastewater systems typically secure a bundle of insurance to cover all aspects of their operation. This may include General Liability, Directors & Officers, Property and Equipment Breakdown coverages. Depending on circumstances, owners may also have other insurances in place such as Workers Compensation Insurance and commercial auto insurance.
Some owners will also consider umbrella insurance and excess liability coverage. When employing a contractor to undertake work, the Owners of the water or wastewater system may require the contractor to provide a surety bond, which is a form of insurance for the client.
